How can you define an amazing present? Is it a modest me-time, something yummy, or something which causes you to feel confident or playful? Shiny and one thing glittery or simply something well-made that transcends trends and time? (For us sensible, realistic, and resilient Minnesotans, indulgent may simply be defined as really great boots)
Here are a few Minnesota-made presents which could certainly cause us to feel pampered if we received — gifts we believe gratify, Minnesota-style.
I could not love Realia by Jen sparkly stones much more, and my collection is growing. I’ve got just two Blingy Bracelets and space in my arm to get heaps more. If you (or your mom, sister, or friend) really are like me and don’t usually tend toward lively jewelry, you will be surprised at how much you adore these and how frequently you’ll use them. Available in colours, such as all birthstones. (Or, try her stud rings to get a less expensive indulgence; I’m up to three pairs)
It does not get a lot more costlier compared to world-famous, Minnesota-made leather products from J.W. Hulme at Saint Paul. I wouldn’t be miserable to determine this clutch under the tree for me (available in five colours), or an accessory pouch or the Mia bag. And pretty much any guy is guaranteed to enjoy a dopp kit, phone sleeve, or even the bag tags made from the gorgeous leather. (We have a postcard at home for a sale and Scott abandoned it to me in my keyboard; hints)
Your sister, mom, friend, or office Secret Santa pal would not gratify herself in a $17 bar of soap that is exactly what makes it a terrific present. This 3-in-1 pub is for body, hair , and shaving, which is all sorts of healthy and environmentally secure. Made in Minnesota by StormSister Spatique.
Every time I walk by these in the store I need them they’re so yummy! My favorite variety is Funky Chunky Pretzel (the first), but don’t stop there. Find these Edina-made treats at Lunds, Byerly’s, also Kowalskis, and you’ve got an excellent gift for that someone with everything.
Local, organic, award winning, also comes in a gorgeous bottle. For the friends or sisters who love to combine a wonderful drink, attempt Prairie Organic Vodka or Gin. Available at Surdyk’s. (Or, in case your giftees prefers the neighborhood brew scene, then you could give them the Vita.MN 2014 Six Package, too at Surdyk’s.)
For those guys in your lifetime, look at a pair of classic Red Wing Boots. Adam’s grandpa always had a pair of these classic boots, and Adam and I went searching for a pair a couple of short years back. The store is man paradise — very remarkable and tactile — and we couldn’t be pleased with his buy. The boots also have worn beautifully and like every wonderful leather product, are much more beautiful now than when they were brand new.
Indulgent doesn’t have to mean expensive — it might mean giving her permission to take some time to get himself and sneak in a nap. This linen fox sleeping mask is really adorable, and can be handmade by StitchLab at St. Paul. (And just $16.)
I have one MBMB screen-printed jersey knit scarf, but now I need this one also. Any girl would love it. Made in Northeast Minneapolis.
Give the gift of feeling awesome in your swimsuit. Nani Nalu offers free private swimsuit shopping services for real girls (sizes 0-18, A- to G-cup). They specialize in assisting you to locate a suit you’re feeling comfortable and confident in. Their prices make this an ideal splurge present, especially for someone who has hard time spending money on themselves. It’d be a wonderful present for mamas — post-partum bodies swim-crazy children necessitates a good suit.
